Sara Robison

Sara Fortune-Robison, 79, passed peacefully into God’s keeping on March 2nd, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by Lynn, her husband of fifty-six years. She is survived by her son David Robison, of Newark, MO; son Darren Robison and his wife Charmie of Kansas City, MO and daughter Dana Brown of Liberty, MO. Her sister Phyllis Green of Denver, CO; Sister Jacqueline Scullen and her husband Tom of Liberty, MO. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Christina Shields, Brandon Brown and his wife Codie, Michael Brown, Sara Brown and Dakota Robison and Great grandchildren Addison Shields, Jude Baker and Willow Brown; plus nieces and nephews. Sara’s butterfly sign graced Successful Living Books racks both locally and nationally. She was employed at Lucille Davis, a clothing boutique in Liberty, MO for 17 years. She loved playing paper dolls outfitting her customers. She also worked for Bedinger’s Ethan Allen on Liberty square. Her favorite hobby was reading, she was a member of several local book clubs. She had several articles published and wrote a book, Women of Class: Breast Cancer 101, (that included 29 stories of other women’s journeys with breast cancer, it has her butterfly on the front cover). Sara also designed a What for a grandchild with learning disabilities. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church for 53 years, where she volunteered in the office for several years. She also volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen and at the Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary. Her favorite times were when she could have her family all together. She often joked that she was Bionic on her left side, with a pacemaker, metal plate and seventeen pins in her arm along with a knee replacement. Sara asked that memories and condolences be left on her Facebook page: Sara Fortune Robison. Some of them may be shared during the service. Visitation will take place Saturday March 10th, 2018 at 2pm followed by her celebration of life at 3pm. Liberty United Methodist Church, 1001 Sunset Avenue, Liberty, MO 64068. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Liberty United Methodist Church.
