Michael Wayne Lincoln
June 17, 1966 - January 20, 2018
Mike was born around 5:30 PM on a lovely day. He was anxious to come into the world as he arrived three weeks early. Mom, Judy had worked at the Census Bureau in Pittsburg, Kansas where lunch and a baby had been the event of the day. After getting home, the honored child decided to make his intentions known. It was a quick trip to the babysitter with tholdest sister, Dana and older brother, Jeff for safe keeping. A quick trip to Baxter Memorial Hospital and straight to delivery Mom and Dad flew. Mike seemed ready and healthy. He was a good natured baby with a pleasant smile. Mike walked very young, at 9 months and he did not like to be wet so, he pretty much potty trained himself. We were all very happy about that. Mike loved his family and fellow man. He was happy and sang wonderfully. He took part in musical productions with song and dance. He sang with a young group at the World's Fair when it was held in New Orleans. Mike was a hard worker and ended up with severe back injuries which required many surgeries. He had inserted into his back a unit which enabled him to move his left leg. After his disabling injuries he signed up with the Red Cross and helped locally, Iowa floods, hurricanes in the south within his capacity to help assist others. Mike loved to build electrical-battery operated stuff. He made a radio when he lived in O'Fallon, Missouri which brought a visit from the Feds in search of what might be interfering with Federal Communications. He was 13 years old and did not realize he had caused trouble. He took it apart and apologized. He built things to fly around our heads that made us duck! Mike was a wrestler, football player, a musician, playing the trumpet and a happy soul who did as Jesus into his heart as a teen. The memories of Mike are good and they will last through our lifetime. No services are currently planned. Cremation entrusted to Cashatt Family Funeral Home, Platte Woods, Missouri.
