Mary Lois Danner

Mary Lois Danner, age 92, went to be with her Lord on Friday April 6th, 2018 at a friend's home in Independence, Missouri. Mary was born June 19, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Williams and Flora (Allen) Williams. Mary attended Rich Hill School in Bates County, Rich Hill, Missouri. In 1945, Mary married John W Danner, of Rich Hill, Missouri. Mary and John had a wonderful life together. Family, friends and cooking were Mary’s passion and delights. Mary was a wonderful cook and was employed by several restaurants in the Independence area. She ran a small lunch counter at the old Woolco Store on Highway 291 for 7 years until the store closed. Mary then was employed at the Englewood Café for 23 years where she became the kitchen manager and retired at the age of 81 years. She loved everything there was about cooking and baking. Mary's family and friends were very important to her. She always had a beautiful smile and never met a stranger. Mary was a wonderful mother to her three boys and one daughter. Mary was a charter member of Open Bible Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a dedicated Christian all of her life. She loved the Lord and her church with all her heart. When Mary was younger, she taught children’s Sunday School class for many years. She adored the children and wanted them to become good Christians. Mary was preceded in death by her husband John and two sons, Johnnie Danner and Ronnie Danner. Mary is survived by her brother, Arthur Williams and his wife Mabel of Rich Hill Missouri, son, Rick Danner of Independence Missouri, daughter, Debbie Kalwei also of Independence Missouri; daughter-in-law, Roseanne Danner, four grandsons; Jeff Danner, Jason Danner, Clayton Kalwei and Michael Kalwei all from the Kansas City area; five granddaughters; Jennifer Ginnings, April Danner, Angie Teater, Brenda Kalwei and Melinda Patterson and many great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be 11am, Thursday, April 12th at Open Bible Baptist Church; 5401 N. Sycamore Drive, Kansas City, Missouri 64119 with Visitation beginning at 10am. Graveside service at 2:30pm at Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Open Bible Baptist Church.
