Clyde "Randy" Bratt

Randy Bratt, 55 of Kansas City passed away November 24, 2012 at North Kansas City Hospital. Randy was born the youngest of five children on September 24, 1957 to Clyde and Della (Ahrends) Bratt in Pontiac, Illinois. He graduated from Cornell High School in 1976, and shortly after started working as a Deputy Sheriff with the Livingston County Sheriff, Pontiac, IL. He worked many years in security as an officer and supervisor for the Clinton Power Plant in Clinton, IL. Randy was also self employed for years as an electrician and a DJ. In 1998 Randy married Susan Rigdon and they soon made their home in Kansas City Missouri where he continued to work as a security officer. His recent employment was with Timber Blinds until becoming disabled after his diagnosis of lung cancer in May 2011. Randy was baptized as a young boy at the First Baptist Church of Pontiac, IL. He was currently a member of the Platte Woods United Methodist Church, Platte Woods, Missouri. Randy enjoyed playing golf with the Senior Adult Ministries (SAM) at Platte Woods Church. He also enjoyed photography, nature, and relaxing with his cat, Simba - lovingly nicknamed, "Whammer." Randy was a loyal Cub's fan; win or lose. With all these mentioned, Randy's greatest joy was spending time with his beautiful daughters - his punkins. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister; nieces and nephews. Randy is survived by his two daughters; Megan and Morgan Bratt; one brother Robert (Jo Ellen) Bratt of Graff, MO; two sisters; Lois (Les) Meister, Cornell, IL and Patsy Ledford of Pontiac, IL; his ex-wife and friend, Susan and Bob Steckmest, Kansas City, MO; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Randy will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Platte Woods United Methodist Church; 7310 NW Prairie View Rd; Platte Woods, MO, where the family will receive friends and family at 10:00 a.m. Internment directly following at East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, MO.
